Take a Knee

One of the churches we visited in Paducah handed these prayer guides out forty days before the election, urging Christians to take the knee in 2012.

This guide has reminded me that I shouldn't be just praying at election time, but at all times.  No matter who is in office, we should be on our knees in prayer on behalf of our leaders.

Today may we pause the debating and the discussion, the arguments and opinions.  Instead, may we take a knee and intercede to the One who has it all in the palm of His hands.   May we pray for wisdom and protection for our future president...for a graceful surrender for the candidate who doesn't win...  And then may we use this day as a kick-off to be diligently praying regularly for a man who--I believe--will have the most difficult job position on the face of the earth.

I urge you to read and participate in this exercise today on Beth Moore's blog.  The comment feed is now closed, but it doesn't keep you from participating on your own paper...and you can participate in part two beginning tomorrow (hopefully! :) )
